ive not long had my 20 weeks scan by nhs and she told me its a boy and im sure i saw what looked like boy parts however i have a feeling it may of been wrong. I have booked for a scan with babybond but I want to know how reliable they are Ive read online that they make quite a lot of mistakes. what would you suggest
1.Letrature suggest there is 97% accuracy in detecting the sex of the baby at this level of pregnancy. 2.In this case what you can do is get a repeat scan with other doctor / technician for second opinion. 3.Grossly it will always comes out correct - but in some cases when chord, shadowing in the ultrasound, lie of the baby and vigorous movements can make it go wrong. 4.20 weeks scan is to see the baby well being / detect anomalies if its normal you don't have to worry.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
