Are Dexamethasone 20 Mg And Promethazine 12.5 Mg The Right Medicines For Migraine Headache?

Hi my name is Barbara and i have been having migraine headaches from a pinch nerve in the neck. This is the meds they provided for me Dexamethasone 20 mg, Peoomethazine 12.5 mg Sodium Chloride 0.9% 1,000 ml Diphenhydramine 25 mg and Diazepam 2.5 mg. What else can be done this has been going on from the past 3 mouths or more please tell me or give me more advise

Hello,

I am not sure I agree with that treatment. First, if the cause of the pain is a pinched nerve then it's not a migraine, not every a headache is a migraine. A migraine by definition is a primary headache, meaning has no identifiable cause.

I don't agree with that treatment, not as a maintenance treatment surely. If the cause is thought to be a pinched nerve then treatment consists in non-steroid anti-inflammatory painkillers and medication for neuropathic pain like Gabapentin.

Physical therapy is also necessary. If not enough local injections with steroids and anaesthetics may be tried.
