Are IV Infusion Of Antibiotics Advisable For A Stage 4 COPD Patient?

My mum has stage 4 copd, her lower lobes are all damaged and she s been in hospital 8 times this year for upto 6/7 weeks at a time.. We almost lost my mum in May due to double pneumonia, Pseudomonas, and high levels carbon dioxide... We now have palative nurses and community nurses.. My mums been in hospital a week now but just on a short stay ward not the chest ward.. Her oxygen is dropping to 70/72 on movement and she s got Pseudomonas plus 2.. We know from the last year that oral antibiotics don t work and she needs the iv drips for 14 days of merapehrin (not sure if that s spelt correct).. But this short stay ward are not listening and we don t know what we can do

I really appreciate your concern, COPD is the condition of poor air follow in the lungs and it is not the single reason behind this but so many factors plays the role behind this, if the infection is there then antibiotics works else it is useless, symptoms are the great concern and management of these gives nice symptomatic relief hope this information helps.
