My son, now 7 years old, was diagnosed with autism when he was 2 years old. We have seem a few doctors over this time. The last doctor (who specializes in autism) recommended that we put our son on L-carnosine and L-theanine in addition to a few other supplements. This was over 2 years ago and due to financial issues we haven t been able to afford to continue our sessions with this particular doctor. My concern is that I don t know if we should still be giving these supplements to him. I don t give them to him regularly, but my husband, on the other hand, feels that it s fine to continue on with the dosage that was recommended at that time. I want to know exactly what these supplements are for and if they are beneficial to our son. He is also taking 5-htp, saccharomyces boulardii, vitamin D, omega 3-6-9, and gaba (at bedtime).
