Are MMA Workouts Advisable Post Maxillofacial Surgery With Titanium Stents?

I had maxilloflacial surgery done. Plates in both sides of my jaws and 4 titanium stents in the roof of my mouth to level bite. They pushed my chin back a little over 2in. I had a severe under bite. Also have full denture. My question is... Would it be a good idea to train to fight MMA? Some say it s just as strong, some say it s stronger, some say it s weaker... Ive been into 2 street fights since my surgery 2.5yrs ago and took many hits to the face and caused no damage. But street fighting isn t like fighting in a ring. I want to know from a doctor

Hello,

It is better to avoid MMA as it can cause misplacement of the implant.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
