Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are NyQuil And Cefdinir Safe Medicines For Children?
My husband gave my six year old 5ml of NyQuil tonight that is nighttime relief with alcohol. He also took his first dosage of cefidnir: I am worried that the two medications are not good considering NyQuil says ask a doctor for ages 4+ . Is this safe ?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain Nyquil is an over the counter medicine that is used to treat cold and congestion, cough and sore throat along with mild fever.. But is appropriate for children above 12 years of age..
As your child is 6 years of age you can give her Children's Nyquil.. I would suggest you to consult a Paediatrician and get him evaluated..
If your son has cold or upper respiratory tract infection, you can give him Acetaminophen, make her do warm saline gargles, steam inhalation, saline nasal irrigation and use a humidifier in his room.. Chewing a Vitamin C pellet can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
