Hi. Good evening. Your concern for health of your baby is appreciable. Seeing your description it seems to be your child is suffering from upper respiratory tract infection that is most probably viral in this age group. Viral illnesses are usually self limiting. They usually take their time and go away . All that needs to be done is reducing the severity of symptoms like giving antipyretics for fever and antiallergics/antihistamines for the complaints of runny nose/eyes. Paracetamol is antipyretic and mefanamic acid is also an antipyretic in addition to having strong anti-inflamatory effects. So in this case , you do not really need to give both paracetamol and mefanamic acid at the same time. Just stick to paracetamol. In addition to it, you may consult your primary physician/pediatrician to discuss the need of an antibiotic to control/prevent the bacterial super infection. Piriton is usually better avoided in kids less than 6 years of age..
