General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What symptoms you are having with white discharge and itching in vagina is due to yeast (fungal) infection. Many a times, such infections may be also associated with mild bacterial infection too.
Canditral contains 'itraconazole', which is used for treating fungal infections. It works by killing sensitive fungi.
Syscan contains 'fluconazole', is a triazole antifungal drug and is used in the treatment and prevention of superficial and systemic fungal infections.
Surfaz is mainly an antifungal cream, containing 'clotrimazole' as its active ingredient. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial medication.
Hence, what has been prescribed by the doctor is right. It is a combination of systemic and local antifungal along with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial medications. Kindly follow as advised and your symptoms will subside.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
