Are Yamini Oral Contraceptive Pills Safe To Take Regularly?
hello, my wife is suffering from irregular periods and now she is 31 years and her TSH was increased to 9.16 so right now we are consulting with a gynecologist because after TSH treatment we will plan for our first baby. right now TSH is 4.5 but still we want to plan baby after 2 or 3 months so doctor has prescribed ovasital - F and Yamini (Drospirenone and Ethinylestradiol Tablets USP) and one syrup M2-tone (non hormonal menstrual modulator) so my question is if this will be safe taking yamini an oral contraceptive? because i have heard oral contraceptives create problem in future pregnancy. please help me. we are using other precaution co***m and dont want to take any oral contraceptives. so should my wife take that pill or not? we are married since 18 months. details of her past months perios are below 9 June 2015 5 August 2015 10 September 2015 14 October 2015 5 November 2015 29 November 2015 5 January 2016 4 february 2016 29 february 2016 30 march 2016 5 may 2016 26 may 2016 17 june 2016 10 august 2016 29 September 2016
hi thanks for posting on hcm. i can see that you are planning for a baby in near future, before that in regard the health issues your wife having i would advise you to follow the prescribed medication because 1. it is important for the periods to be regularised before conception so that there is ovulation that occurs at regular intervals for which the oral contraceptives are prescribed there is no harm in using them on pregnancy instead they help in periods beign regular. sometimes its difficult to conceive with irregular periods 2. thyroid function should be brought to normal before conception as deficiency can cause ill effects on the baby, like there could be risk of abortions and development of baby.
i therefor suggest you before your wife getting pregnant ensure that thyroid function is normal and if possible her periods are normal. hope this information is helpful to you. regards
