Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Abdominal Spasms And Asthma Connected To Other Symptoms?
Hello My now 14 yr old daughter has been diagnosed with CIU. Before the diagnosis and rashing, she was suffered severe chest pain (4 episodes in 8 months lasting up to 2 weeks) One chest x-ray showed some swelling in cartilage around sternum connecting ribs. Nothing took the pain away, including morphine (iv), only took the edge off. She got her first menstrual cycle and has not had a chest pain since but developed spontaneous anaphylaxis shortly thereafter, then the horrible rashes. She s now experiencing other symptoms; abdominal spasms (she had intestinal bleeding in the spring, they said due to a virus) and asthma. Do any of these symptoms, combined, sound connected?
* As per my clinical experience, the rashes with sudden onset of chest pain indicate possible thromboembolism issue with platelet dysfunction most likely, as there is asthma many of the immune-related mechanics come into action.
* However, providing me with all the details of all the reports as scanned copies further work up discussion can be possible in best manner.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
