Are Back Pain And Burning In Pelvic Area Symptoms Of Vaginal Bacteria Infection?

Hi Dr. Rynne, I was diagnosed with a vaginal bacteria infection a week ago and prescribed Flagyl. My symptoms (moderate pain in the pelvic area, burning, lower back achiness) have gotten worse, not better. The symptoms are constant, not intermittent. Could this have been a misdiagnosis requiring further testing? Thank you

Hi Dear!!Thanks for your query to HCM.

What is the cause of it?
Based on facts of your query, you seem to suffer from-
Vaginits with PID.Check CBC(Complete Blood tests),Blood sugar-Fasting / post meal/ urine for sugar and micro- for bacterial infection-causing accompanied Urinary tract infection, which is causing burning in your case.
Worsening of complaints of low back ache in your case- is from incomplete drug planning-
Consider adding -Ciplox Tab 500 mg with Metrogy x 10 days time
With Tab NSAID -like ibuprofen +Tab Acetaminofen x 10 days time.
Plenty of fluids with Alkalisation of Urine with alkaline mixture may be needed if indicated after tests.
Consult your attending doctor or Gynec Specialist, who would do the needful correction for you to relieve of these complaints.

I would love to give updated reply after getting more details from you, if needed.
Welcome for any further query in this regard.

Good Day !!
