Are Birth Control Pills Effective In Postponing Periods?

Hello, I m going on vacation tomorrow and unfortunately that is the same time I ll be getting my period. I was wondering if I could take birth control pills from now until the end of my four day vacation to delay my period without and problems with my menstrual cycle, or any other problems I m unaware of? After my vacation I will not be using the birth control pills since I am not sexually active and I just would want it to delay my period.

Hi,

Taking Norethisterone 5mg tablets from 4 days before your day of period onwards to the date you want to delay it can help you. You will get the periods within 2-3 days of stopping the medication. However, if you date of period is tomorrow it won't be of any use now.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
