Are Black Spots On The Brain Of One Who Had Trigeminal Neuralgia Serious?

My husband had trigeminal neuralgia a few years ago and they cut him from top of brain to bottom of ear. Had a MR I done and found two black spots on his brain. Thought that day he was having a heart attack. Are the black spots serious. The hospital Dr. That took care of him and released him the next day said no.
