Are Blood Sugar Levels With Bacterial Infection Worrisome?

Type 2 Diabetic was off Meformin for more than 6 months, got a bacterial infection. Dr. upped my Metformin to 1000 MG 2x daily. Blood sugars for past 2 days have been at 384. Been eating right again. Should I worry? My 3month AIC was 12.8/average 282 the other day.
