Are Canker Sores In Labia Suggestive Of Herpes Infection?
Hello doctor, I m a 25yr old. I had sexual relationship with a guy from the age of 19yrs. After brk up I had cm to know that he had multiple sex partner. I didn t gv much thought about it till date. I have recently got 2 very small canker sores one on my labia minora and one just at the side of perinial region. I also had developed right inguinal lymp node swelling. I saw a yellowish white milky type discharge, non foul smelling from my vagina. I immediately went to a local gynae who said I had normal infection has I had recently travelled. After 4days of treatment I saw atleast 7-8 very small blisters at the side of the canker sore in the perinial region. I don t have any pain of any sort. I got a second opinion from another gynae who again said it s just an infection. The guy i m with from the last year doesn t have any symptoms yet. I m suspecting it might be some kind of STD maybe herpes that I had contracted from my last partner. I m very worried. Plz help.

Are Canker Sores In Labia Suggestive Of Herpes Infection?
Hello, Since you had sexual relations with a partner who had multiple partners, you are suggested to visit ER & give a clear history of your relationships. Get STD tests done to stay on the safer side. If your reports are negative, no worries. But you should always go for protected sex & avoid multiple partners. No matter what contraception devices you use, always use condoms. Contraceptive devices protect you from pregnancy and not from STI. If your reports are positive for STI your doctor will treat you with antibiotics & antivirals. Get treated at the earliest. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
