Are Cervical OS Tightening And Duvadilan Retard Pills Necessary For Sustaining Pregnancy?

Hello, I Am 17 Week Pregnant, I have no previous history of abortions, this is my first baby. My doctor has advised me for cervical OS Tightening and duvadilan retard 40mg pill everyday till 9th month; as she found that cervix opening is patulous and can result in early pregnancy or abortion. Kindly suggest whether this treatment is safe? How to determine necessity of Cervix OS tightening procedure? Can taking only pills will sustain my pregnancy?

If u don't have any symptoms like pain, and also not have any such history in past also, no need to take duvadilon pills, moreover u dont require any cervical OS tightening also, cervical os tightening is reqd only when, pt. has history of repeated abortions, plus usg shows small cervical length 1.5 cm
