Are Condom And Next Choice Pills Effective On Preventing Pregnancy?

I had my last period from July 2-July 7. On July 10th, I was with my boyfriend and he initially started having sex without a condom (maybe 20 seconds worth). I freaked out so he went and got a condom and finished everything up. I still didn't want to worry about a pregnancy so I went and bought Next Choice and took it within 30-40 minutes after having sex. Took the second pill 12 hours after like directed in the instructions. I'm pretty sure I should be in the clear but could appreciate the confirmation from others. Thanks for all the help!

Hello,

Pregnancy is unlikely as emergency pills are very effective with low failure rate. If you are worried you can opt for a urine pregnancy test in case of missed period.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
