Are Cough And Vomiting With A Temperature Of 102.5 Regular Flu Symptoms?

My wife has been in bed with the flu for 6 days now. She has a horrible, deep cough that is persistent . Today, she has vomited a few times, and again has a fever of 102.5 Is this typical of a bad flu, or should she be seen by a Dr. for concerns of something else? Thanks YYYY@YYYY
