Are Cramping And Bleeding During Ectopic Pregnancy A Cause For Concern?

I have a tubal pregnancy and was given one dose of methotrexate. Its been 2 and a half to 3 weeks since shot and im still having cramping and bleeding. Is my doctor supposed to give me a follow up ultrasound? My numbers are going down but i still have pain and bleeding. What should my doctor do?

Hello dear
Understand your concern
You have to consult the gynecologist as early as possible.
Methotrexate can be used for early tubal pregnancy.
Before using HCG should be done (HCG rise not greater than 35 percent in 48 hour) and pregnancy mass should be not >3.5.cm.

Some time methotrexate fail to abort the pregnancy. Bleeding and cramps 3 week after suggest failure of methotrexate.
Repeat the USG scan that will tell about status of abortion. It still pregnancy will be there it should be removed by laparoscopic surgery.
Take analgesic like tramadol and diclofenac.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
