Are Delayed Periods Due To Percocet Prescribed For Teeth Pain?
Hi I have been given percocet for wisdom teeth pain by my oral surgeon and was supposed to get my period the day after the surgery but it is now 5 days late. I do have an irregular period and have safe sex, but was wondering if the drug could have affect the delay
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain Percocet contains active ingredient Oxycodone and is not commonly seen to cause delay in periods. As you are delayed by 5 days it can be due to general causes like stress.. In case if you already have irregular periods, it can be due to your normal irregular cycle.. You should wait for further one week and in case if still you do not get your periods consult a Gynaecologist and get evaluated.. A proper clinical examination and investigations like Ultrasonography and if you are regular in copulation a pregnancy test can be carried out for confiirmation of cause ..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
