Are Diffuse Cerebral And Cerebellar Volume Loss And Right Maxillary Sinus Mucous Retention Cysts Serious Concerns?
Hello Doctor. I recently had an MRI performed of my brain without contrast because of family history of dementia. Below are some of the findings: Overall: 1. Mild diffuse cerebral and cerebellar volume loss. There are several ossifications or calcifications in the anterior interhemispheric falx. There are a few tiny hyperintense FLAIR signal intensity lesions in the subcortical white matter of the left frontal and right parietal lobe, suggesting minimal white matter leukoaraiosis. There is a small dilated perivascular space in the posterior-infrior right basal ganglia. The left intracranial vertebral artery is severely hypoplastic and it is possible that the left intracranial vertebral artery terminates in the left posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA). 2. No MRI evidence for multi-infarct dementia. 3. Right maxillary sinus mucous retention cysts. The mastoid air cells are clear. The orbits appear normal. 2.
