Question relates to 67 yr. old female with numerous health conditions. Although she has not been beset with dizziness upon awakening in the past she complained of feeling very dizzy this morning. I had her lift her r. arm and then her l. arm and hold for 10 sec. She stated both movements cause increased dizziness. I directed her to extend her neck as far as flexibility would allow and hold for 10 seconds. The action caused increased dizziness. Her speech is slightly slurred. One of her many doctors said she will likely experience congestive heart failure as she ages. Her mother had a number of mini strokes and eventually died at 77 yrs. due to inability to swallow and unable to ingest nourishment from her feeding tube. I am concerned that my wife may have had a mild stroke. I want to take her to the emergency room, but she is refusing to go. What is your advice?
