General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Spleen is normally not a palpable organ in the abdominal cavity. Enlarged spleen finding is not to considered as normal. The cause for it needs to be looked for.
Many a times, spleen is enlarged in certain infections and also commonly in conditions like malaria. Also spleen enlargement is a finding in cases of leukaemia (blood cancer).
Hence, kindly get the blood analysed for Complete Blood Count with Peripheral Smear examination done to look for further what could be the cause.
Kindly consult Physician with the report for further evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
