Are Fatigue, Low Libido And Increased Appetite Symptoms Of Depression?
I m 47 have a history of depression have been treated for about 20 yrs on basically the same meds. I m extremely busy working both a FT & PT job taking care of my youngest grand daughter three days a week & her older sister a couple hrs after school. My husband is a right leg amputee of 8 yrs who continued to work FT even after the amputation until he was let go from his job of 28 yrs Nov/2015. He applied for disability & was denied so, we are waiting on an appeal. So, now I ve picked up OT at my FT job & about 12 more hrs at my PT job to make ends meet. We use to vacation one or two times a year to go see my family who ve all moved down south. Over the last 4-5 months I ve put on about 9 lbs am extremely exhausted all the time yet if I go to bed early I awake in the middle of the night, where I constantly hot then cold, in & out of blankets all night & had a partial hysterectomy leaving both my ovaries in 2013. I have an insatiable appetite, have no motivation or energy to think about working out which Inuse to do 4-5 days a week or being intimate with my Husbnad. Do you think all of this is depression, perimenopause or there s something wrong with me?
Based on the history you have shared, these symptoms are partly perimenopausal and some underlying depression also involved and a baseline hormonal profile, gynecologist review and psychological assessment are needed. Treatment will be accordingly but also micronutrients replacement may be helpful before that as it can also contribute to it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
