Are Fever, Non Productive Cough And Tight Lungs Indicative Of Pnemonia?
Thanks. Just had CXR and chest CT. Symptoms = DOE, fever, nonproductive cough, tightness in lower lungs. They ruled out PE and indicate mass on lower right lobe. I am referred to pulmonologist, Could this be pneumonia? what is more likely, if you dont mind. 53 y/o male, firefighter, havent smoked in 30 years.
hello, A mass and pneumonia are two different things which have their particular features on xray. If an expert has termed it mass, it is appropriate to seek advice from pulmonologist. it may be a benign condition or worrisome if turns out to be cancer. An xray after 3 months of previous xray is also advised to look for any size changes of mass.
Wish you swift and safe recovery.
