Are Frequent Stomach Pain And Nausea Caused By Braces?

My son has had braces for about a year and a half. He started having abdominal pain about six months after the braces. He has since been treated for ulcers, however he keeps having issues with stomach pain and nausea. It has gotten to the point that it hurts his stomach when he eats. Can this have anything to do with his braces?

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
Abdominal pain is not related to braces.
Abdominal pain due to ulcers can be prevented by some precautions like :-
1.Avoid being empty stomach for long periods.
2.Avoid spicy and oily foods.
3.Avoid pain killers and steroids.
4.Drink lots of water daily.
Antacid like Omeprazole along with sucralfate liquid can be helpful but it should be given after consultation with his doctor.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
