Are Headaches And Dizziness Caused Due To Inhaling Strong Chemical Odors?

Hi, I was using Goo-Off to clean something out of the inside of my dryer. Needless to say, the odor was fairly strong and, though I tried staying out of the odor as much as I could, I couldn t help but inhale some of it. I felt slightly light headed and dizzy, but I ve opened all the windows and doors that can be opened and sat outside for a good 10 minutes. Do I have anything to worry about?

Hi,

Such exposure isn't likely to cause any toxic long lasting side effects. Temporarily the chemicals may cause decreased oxygenation if inhaled along as it will occupy the normal breathing concentration of normal air gases. Rarely allergic reactions may be triggered which can cause respiratory tract inflammation but is reversible. Any long lasting side effects are less likely. Keeping good ventilation, and breathing fresh air may help you feel better. If the symptoms persist, a nearby health facility follow up and blood gases may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
