Are Heart Murmur And Chest Pain Indications Of A Significant Cardiovascular Dysfunction?

I have been told that I have a slight murmur, and I get this pain in my heart that feels like it’s cramping from time to time since I can remember but recently, about the past month or so, I’ve had this pressure on my chest like a child is sitting on it, it’s not severe. Just wondering if anything is significantly wrong with me cardiovascularly and if I should go get checked.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would like to tell you that considering your heart murmur and an episode of chest heaviness a basic cardiac evaluation is required.

It's recommended for you to get an ECG, echocardiography and if both are normal then a treadmill test done and consult a Cardiologist personally for physical evaluation and further management.

Hopefully this information will guide you properly.

Kind regards,

Dr. Bhanu Partap
