Are Hot And Cold Flashes Throughout The Body Related To Nicotine Withdrawal Effects?

I have smoked for 45 years. I have quit 5 weeks ago but used nicotine gum to help overcome withdrawal issues. I have now been totally nicotine free for a week but seem to be having intense withdrawal issues and feelings that every nerve ending in my body is right at the surface and the slightest movement is irritating. I get waves or flashes of warm and chills throughout the day. Is all of this nicotine withdrawal related or is there something else going on?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to nicotine withdrawal and will settle by itself.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
