Are Hot Flashes, Fatigue, Fever, Nausea And Sleeplessness Side Effects Of Methylprednisolone?
my husband is 65 and on Friday evening ended up at ER because of being over heated. He says he wasn t working hard and was surprised. He works in heat everyday. loves outdoors. my concern is he had been taking Methylprednisolone for insect bite, that Dr. had told us is was light sensitive, I m wondering if he had reaction from the light/heat from meds. he has had headaches, fever, nausea, body aches, and sleeps all the time. we have been at different locals until today. I have made sure he has had Gatorade, water and yogurt I m still concern. he has outtake also. just don t want to think everything ok and have something that happens later. he finally has asked for food and ate 1chicken strip sauted and squash.
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services. I have read your query and here is my advise.
* An overdose of methylprednisolone can provoke metabolic changes and fatigue with flashes , otherwise regular prescribed dosage of steroid is not responsible for such issues.
* Associated low intake of liquids, more perspiration or other factors must be ruled out to get through the issue with gatorade.
Wish him best recovery. Thank you. Regards.
