General & Family Physician 's  Response
An increased appetite and overeating can be a symptom of different diseases such anxiety, drugs (such as corticosteroids, cyproheptadine, and tricyclic antidepressants), bulimia (most common in women 18 - 30 years old), diabetes, Grave’s disease, hyperthyroidism, hypoglycemia, and premenstrual syndrome. It may be intermittent or persistent depending on the cause. It does not always result in weight gain.
Advice
1.     Investigations – blood sugar (F & PP), serum TSH and T4
2.     Review your medicines if taking. If a medication is causing increased appetite and weight gain, doctor may decrease your dosage or recommend a different drug. Never stop taking your medication without first talking to doctor.
3.     Review your eating habits – do not eat junk foods, high energy foods such as chocolates and cakes, oily and spicy foods. Divide your meal into three smaller parts. Do not eat heavily at a time.
4.     Workout in gym – it will utilize extra energy and prevent weight gain
Thanks!!
