Are Internal Injuries Possible After Falling On The Back Off From A Bar?

yes, thank you. My 10 year old daughter fell on her back today (off of a bar at gymnastics class), knocked the wind out of her. once she caught her breathe, she continued to lie flat, then became nausaus, had about 3-5 dry heaves. She twas scared and breathing like in a panic. She became very hot, started to sweat. Then we calmed her breathing down, put a wet cloth on her head and she calmed down. An ice pack was then put under her on the spot of her back she identified as being in great pain. eventually, about 20 minutes, we got her to move her legs and stand up, then walk. What should I look for now? we don't think she hit her head, just her back, is a concusion still a possibility? Is it possible other internal injuries could have occurred?

Greetings of the day

The baby looks absolutely fine and there is no cause for concern.

If you notice any of the signs , consult Pediatrician/Pediatric Surgeon at earliest

1. Excessive crying or excessive sleeping

2. Abnormal movements of the body which could be convulsion

3. Persistent Vomiting: 1 or 2 episode of vomiting is quite common in Pediatric Head injury and is not cause for concern.

4. Loss of consciousness

In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
