Are Irregular Periods And Not Getting Pregnant Normal?

Hi, am 30 and currently trying to get pregnant with my husband. After our wedding in october (which was the last time I had a normal period) my period stopped. In Jan, my doctor put me on Medroxyprogesterone, within 5day of the last dose I had a very heavy period that came with a lot of cramps and pain. However this is March and I haven't had any periods since then, despite all the nauseous feeling and how bloated I get/feel, I tested for pregnancy in Feb but it was negative. I am however ansious to know if this is absolutely normal ( not seeing period and not getting pregnant) or could there be more underlying problems.
