Are Itchy Throat, Blocked Ear And Runny Nose With Phlegm Due To Infection?

I have an itchy throat, sore throat on just my left side, and a blocked ear on the left side. My nose is also a bit runny and i have a bit of Flem. What could this be? Is it an infection? i don't swim on a regular basis the lats time i swam was about 2-3months ago please help!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems that you have an Upper Respiratory Tract Infection also known as Common Cold and the symptoms of itchy and sore throat along with locked ear along with cold and phlegm seems to be due to it..
As it is a viral infection it cannot be treated with medications and is mostly self limiting and will resolve within a week..
You can take supportive treatment like anti allergics like Levocetrizine, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and along with it do warm saline gargles and steam inhalations..
You should also chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
In case if you have cough you can take cough suppressants containing Gueifenesin and Dextromethorphan..
Sip on warm water throughout the day..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
