Are Light Menses After Period Related To Miscarriage?

my period finished 13 days ago, and it came back last night. It started out brown and very very light now its red and heavier. Its only there when i wipe and at the moment i dont need to wear a pad. i took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I know i ovulated not long ago and we are trying for a baby. Could it be an early miscarriage?
