Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Masses On The Opposite Ends Of Colon Malignant?
My 74 year old brother is recovering from a liver abscess. It was drained 2 weeks ago. The doctor did a colonoscopy and says he has two masses in colon on opposite ends. He tells the family that he is 99% certain that it is cancer but has done no biopsy. My brother says that food does not taste good and refuses to eat. He has lost 40 lbs (190 down to 150). Doctors say no treatment can be administered until he eats and grows stronger and has told wife to keep him comfortable until the end. Should she seek additional diagnosis from specialists? What about a biopsy?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is the suspected condition of malignancy then it is advisable to get done the MRI test till the biopsy can be thought or planned else biopsy is the option to differentiate the cancer till then no need to worry about this because case yet to be finally diagnosed hope this information helps.
