Are Mood Swings And Irritation Symptoms Of Menopause?

I am a double organ transplant recipient and am on prednisone and going through menopause. I am having severe agitation, mood swings, outbursts, and just very argumentative now. I have not had these problems until about 6 months ago. Is there anything I can do to help these issues?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern.
mood swings and irritation symptoms of menopause.
But confirm the menopause by testing hormone like estrogen that is low and high FSH and LH.

Complete absence of menstruation is definitive sign.
Also note other symptoms of menopause:
Vaginal dryness and itching
Joint pain, weight gain
Breast tenderness
Headache
Dizziness, itchy skin,
Hot flashes
Irritability
Mood swings
anxiety
Decreased in libido

But prednisone also cause mood swings and agitation.
So menopause should be confirm by testing Hormone level

Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
