General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Schizophrenia causes psychosis as the central symptoms which relate mostly to seeing or hearing things that others don't. Mood swings can happen as well but are not the main characteristic.

In your case very likely you are having depression which causes mood swings, low self-esteem, loss of concentration and interests, low energy and suicidal thoughts.

It is important to seek medical help as soon as possible when having suicidal thoughts as these are due to depression and not real thoughts of yours and put you at risk. Treatment for depression controls well these thoughts and also having some counseling might help for a better and quicker improvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
