Are Nasal Drainage And Concussion Related?

Hi ,Dr my daugther was in a car acccident and had a concussion the MRI came out normal .she suffers from sinuses from before but now after the accident it seems like nose drainage lasted longer about 3 months and dry caughing constantlyAre nasal drainage and concussion can be related?

Hello,

Yes, head injury may lead CSF rhinorrhea. In which cribriform plate is ruptured lead to problems. Use antibiotics and surgical correction may useful. Please consult with your ENT specialist / neurosurgeon he will examine and treat you accordingly.
