Hi, plz can you help to explain what has happened to my mom. she lives in New York and I in SA. My brother contacted me to say that she had a right sided brain stem stroke. She had some eye coordination problems and felt nauseous. She has suffered for many years with a hiatus hernia with often reflux. She had collapsed in the kitchen and was taken to the hospital. General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Nausea and vomiting of blood can be symptoms of a brain stem stroke, but they can also be caused by other medical conditions such as gastrointestinal bleeding or a severe case of acid reflux. Your mom needs to receive proper medical attention to determine the underlying cause of her symptoms and receive appropriate treatment. I would recommend talking to her doctors for further information and updates on her condition.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
