Are Pain And Tingling Sensation In Right Arm Indicative Of Rheumatoid Arthritis?

I have had pain in my right arm for some time. It seems worse around my elbow and effects nerves all the way to my fingertips. I ve been told it might be carpal tunnel, bursitis or just nerve damage. I m wondering if it could be RA. It feels like when you hit your funny Bob s but more pain than tingling.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM team.

Understanding your concern. pain and tingling sensation in right arm indicative of rheumatoid arthritis could be because of many reasons like nerve damage and decrease in blood supply due to injury, disease like multiple sclerosis or carpal tunnel syndrome . Sometimes frequent activity or heavy weight lifting or arthritis can also cause such symptoms .You should properly stretch your arms before doing such activities. For now is stop activity which causes this sensation, give rest to your arm ,ice your arm for 10 mins twice daily and you can also take diclofenac . You can also massage gently your arm with flax seed oil daily . If this condition reoccur frequently consult orthopedics surgeon ,who can order elecromyography ,MRI ,blood test and take medical history to find out the exact cause.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
