Are Painful Neck With Swollen Lymph Nodes Due To Metformin Taken For PCOS ?

I am 30 years old, suffering with PCOS and have been on metformin for 2 weeks now. Yesterday I started to have very painful neck with swollen lymph node on the right side about 2 inches from my right ear. It is so painful that I had to go to the emergency today. I was given amoxicillin and ibuprophen. Should I stop taking the metformin?

Hi,
I understand your concerns. NO , Metformin does not cause painful neck and swollen nodes . It can be due to an infection . I will advise you to take the drugs prescribed and continue metformin.
