Are Painful Urination And Worm In The Urine Anything Serious?

I am 62 yrs old and lately I have been having pain when I urinate, though not severe. I have been watching my urine because of this and today I saw a very small (maybe 1/4 long and thread like) worm. Is this something to be very worried about? Of course I want to get rid of them, but is it serious?

Hi,

It might be due to work infestation in the bladder.

Consult a urologist and get evaluated. You have to get a urine microscopy to look for worms/eggs.

Nothing much to worry as it will settle with timely antihelminth drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
