Are Persistent Bleeding And Pain In Thighs Normal Post Miscarriage?

Hello, my name is Anna and I just had a miscarriage 3 daya ago and I m still bleeding after my doctor prescribed me Methergine 0 2 MG tablets. Well now I m having pain behind my left and inner thigh and I can t feel my calves on my left side. What do I do? Do ladies get this pain after a miscarriage? Or am I having a stroke? What can I do to stop the bleeding? Very concerned Anna.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As first-line management, you can take drugs like tranexamic acid to control bleeding.

If bleeding persists better to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.

You can opt for an ultrasound scan to look for any retained bits of tissues as it can cause similar symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
