Are Persistent Headache, Stomach Ache And Low Appetite Suggestive Of Viral Infection?

My son has been sick now for 9 days. Been on antibiotic for 4 and is not getting better. Headaches, stomach pain, not eating, not drinking much. What do I do? He has been to erase and Dr and they say virus. I feel this has gone on too long to be a virus

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum.
I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.

As a physician I would like to tell you that Viral infections sometimes take several days to recover like 10-15 days. It is good that your kid is on antibiotics for added cover. But sometimes recovery depends on several factors. Thus I advise that you should keep calm, complete course of antibiotics. Let him have rest for some days and everything will be fine.

I would also like to tell you that if he does not get better even after completing course of antibiotics, then you should visit his attending Pediatrician as soon as possible to do further investigations.

Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum.
Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question.
Have a nice Day.

Regards,
Dr.Abhijeet
