Are Rashes Caused Due To The Combination Of Omeprazole, Morphine And Hydrocodone?

My husband was taken to the er on Monday night with severe stmache pain. They did a ct scan, which everything looked good. They gave him a shot of morphine and hydrocodone to take home for pain. Also a prescription for omeprozole. He started taking omeprozole on Tuesday afternoon. He went to hold Is normal dr. the next day and got off the use hydrocodone because of a slight rash. He has been feeling better but the rash is getting worse! ! My question is can he have an allergic reaction to the omeprozole? And use would sun and humidity make it worse?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The allergic reaction can be due to any of the drugs he used recently, omeprazole, Morphine, and hydrocodone. A drug may give an allergic reaction even a day or two after use, the later the reaction the less severe the symptoms are.

So, it is important to stop using any of the drugs at the moment and probably have skin tests to check for allergic reactions to identify which of these really caused the reaction.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
