Are Recurring Redness And Itching Under Foreskin Suggestive Of Herpes?

I am trying to workout whether I have herpes or something else. I have recurring redness and slightly itchiness under my foreskin. It goes away sometimes in a few days or can last weeks. I have never had any sores per say and sometimes my foreskin swells.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Recurring redness and itching under the foreskin is not a sign of herpes but could be caused due to allergic or inflammation as a result of poor hygiene.
Kindly do the following to overcome the symptoms:
1. Wash the area with warm water and rinsing with antiseptic solution like Povidine-iodine twice daily.
2. After drying, apply Neomycin with Hydrocortisone cream underneath the foreskin.
3. Take Tablet.Levocetrizine once a day to control itch.
6. Wear loose fitting undergarments and avoid sexual activities till the lesions heal completely.
Take care to maintain good genital hygiene.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
