Are Redness And Itching Symptoms Of Healing In Burn Patients?

I burned my arm on my oven. It has been three weeks but it finally seems to be mostly healed. But now its scared an itchy with raised red skin around the burn. The scare is slightly raised but why is the skin around it raised & bumpy. It almost feels like alergic reaction. I just washed my blankets sheets & pillows & im thinking it could be a reaction from my detergent or dryer sheets.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the burning. I recommend using cold compresses for local application. I also recommend using a burning cream for local application such as Argentin cream. I suggest to cover the area with a sterile bandage.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
