Are Scaly Rashes On Knees And Elbows An Outburst Of Eczema?

My son has broken out with tiny pustules in a scaly rash on his knees, shins, elbows and now moving to his upper arms and thighs. It looks like eczema, but I m wondering if it could be an allergic reaction. He also has bad gas and often complains of pains in strange areas (ankles for ex), or stomach ache.

He might be suffering from atopic eczema. Atopic dermatitis develops in people with a tendency for dry skin and usually develops in the areas mentioned by you.So he needs to moisturise his skin regularly by applying emolients. Topical mild steroid cream like mometasone can be applied over the affected areas. If itching is severe than he might take antihistamines like fexofenadine after consulting your dermatologist. Regards
