Are Severe Abdominal Pain, Vomiting And Diarrhea Symptoms Of Bacterial Gastroenteritis?

Yes, I'm asking not on my behalf, but rather on my wife's. She has had abdominal pain so severe she was up all night and barely got any sleep. She hasn't eaten much, but she has been throwing up a lot and I assume made trips to the bathroom for diarrhea. Is it possible she has bacterial gastroenteritis?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea are commonly seen symptoms in cases of Bacterial infection or food poisoning, viral gastroenteritis, food allergies, Irritable bowel syndrome, fecal impaction, divericulitis, intestinal obstructions, E.coli infection etc..

I would suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and he can advise you investigations like enteroscopy, Upper G.I endoscopy, blood investigation etc..
He can also advise medications like antibiotics in case of infection, anti emetics like Domperidone for vomiting, Furazlidone for diarrhea, proton pump inhibitors, antispasmodics etc for relief..

Taking a soft diet with ample of fluids to prevent dehydration is advisable..
